Jason Steele is the animator and comedy writer who founded the website FilmCow. Jason is most famous for their animation Charlie the Unicorn, which remains one of the most popular videos on the internet.

Steele first met Robert Benfer in 2003, when Benfer auditioned for the cameo role of Knox's Klay Army in the fourth and final part of Jason's animated series, Battle for the Portal.^[2] They have since worked together on each other's channels and on independent projects on several occasions.
